Petition to Remove Stephen Colbert From Television
Stephen Colbert has made a mockery of the news by purposely portraying news networks in a negative light for no good reason whatsoever, while at the same time, hoodwinking the world by disseminating propaganda and creating silly words such as "truthiness".
We can not allow this miscreant to continue to spread falshoods and use his audience to launch attacks against Websites such as Wikipedia. In a nutshell, Stephen Colbert is a menace to our children. He targets young minds that do not know better and he violates the sanctity of truth by defiling both his viewers and the true journalists who provide fair and balanced reporting of incidents around the world.

Some real truth
Stephen Colbert is a satirist. One who struck a cord by lampooning right wing conservatives in front of a very left winged crowd. But anything that the "Colbert Nation" has done can hardly be considered anything more than a joke.
They changed a few facts on Wikipedia before, yes. But they were changed for humor's sake (African Elephant population EXPLOSION). A joke that was in no way malicious or hurtful to anyone. If anything, it points out the flaw in just believing anything you read that were written without a credible source.
And as for him mocking "real" broadcast news, BEAR in mind that broadcast news has been far more about entertainment than actual, truthful news for quite some time. Because they are only held accountable for liable, they don't have any sort of governing structure to ensure what they report is truthful. The 2000 elections are a prime example of that.
I'm not an avid fan of the show, although I do enjoy it if I find it flipping channels. But the honest facts are that no matter if you like the Colbert Report or not, it is a satirical program aired on COMEDY - CENTRAL. I pitty the state of our nation if anyone out there is fool enough to take what is reported therein as actual, honest news. In fact, the Colbert Report is much more up front about the fact that is trying to keep you entertained than the news programs which fail to admit the same.

Steven Colbert is doing an act!!!! he is not really like that but is putting on a show to show the hypocracies that occur in "normal" journalism news casts. his over the top use of sets and the determination to prove that he is always right is to show how most if not all journalism is based on what the anouncers want to say and what the owners and producers want them to say as well. and also it is on comedy central...so what did u except CNN?? grow up and learn the real truths behind why things are done before u bash ideas u cant phathom to understand. sorry for the spelling but u get the idea. peace!

It's very telling that you said that neocons "aren't the only ones that are allowed to lie". You just admitted that Stephen Colbert also lies and you are justifying it by trying to cast us as neocons and claiming that we lie just like Stephen Colbert.
Well, Bob, two wrongs don't make a right unless the first wrong was more wrong than the second wrong, and since Stephen Colbert is clearly a bigger liar than Harry Nads (I don't lie at all) then the only conclusion to be made is that there's no excuse for continuing to have Stephen Colbert appear on our television sets.

As for Colbert,Harry, He is more harmless than anyone currently in politics or on the news. He will prevail simply because he takes the awful truth that this world is for the time being, essentially lost, and lets us laugh about it.Do you even comprehend that he is a humorist?
After all, the show isn't on next to the O'Reilly Factor. It's not on Fox news, or CNN, Its on Comedy (the key word here) Central.

says that most kids could give a hoot about news. They are way too busy with kid stuff. My daughter is a news junkie, like me, and at 15 she can tell the difference.
